DNS change breaks NSD appliance

We have had a migration of our internal DNS from BIND -> AD. As a result, while our forward dns resolves to the old names, the reverse DNS now resolves to a new name. This appears to have broken the NSD appliance.
I am seeing 'APPARENT DEADLOCK' messages in the LiveTime.log file, and google suggests the issue is DNS, which makes sense.

Any ideas how to fix this sort of issue? I can't even find where to look, since this is an appliance, and the docs are quite sparse on the issue.

(NSD is v7.0.1, and as much as I'd like to upgrade, my primary concern is to get the NSD working again)

Any suggestions appreciated.

Ignore this thread.
It turns out that the DNS changes coincided with a malicious attack on our server, which rendered it unusable.
