Denial comments when SRC request is denied

Jump to solution

Hi Experts,

WE need to add the denial comments of the approver in the denial email sent to the user for request raised through SRC.

Please suggest what could be the field name and how to configure the same since i noticed the field name as $L.aplItem.comments giving this in html template doesnt work.

Hi,

This looks like a customization request and will need to be handled by PSO team.

Hello

I would expect that your email is generaed via a notification in SM. If that is the case we can look at that to begin with to see the source of your current data minus the comments. The next question would be where are the comments stored in SM? This would dictate how the notifications collects the comments. If you do not currently know the answers to these questions please trace the Approval or Denial of a request such that the notification is generated.

Regards,

Reggie

Hi,

The approval comment is saved in the following table.

file=Approval
form=Approval.g
field=comments

In such case you can query the approval table for the current approval. Here fetch the comments and send the  data as desired. Same can be achieved by the js in html template itself.

Hi All,

We have managed to get the denial comments in the email by JS, however when more than one Approver exists and when the first approver approves the request and the second approver denies the request in those cases the denial comments are not getting captured. Please suggest.

JS:

if ($RECORD.approval_status == "denied" ){
var approvalLog = new SCFile("ApprovalLog",SCFILE_READONLY);
if (approvalLog.doSelect("unique.key=\"" + $RECORD.incident_id + "\"") == 0){
var comments = approvalLog.comments;
}
else{
var Approval = new SCFile("Approval",SCFILE_READONLY);
var comments = Approval.comments;
}
}
