Does KMAdmin capability word over rights KCS Profile assigned to an operator?

Jump to solution

Hi All,

I have created a KM Cateogiry, KM Group for view and publish and KM Profile for view and publish and assigned to operators.

I have created KM denouement and created a CR to follow approval process.

Once i open the change the request, i will be not be able to see KM Document attached to CR and i am seeing a message like you do not have permissions to view KM Document with ID xxxx etc.

This issue is resolved after giving KMAdmin capability word to that user.

Now my question are

1. Is it mandatory to give KMAdmin capability word to all users who are part of approval and review

2. does KM Admin cap word overrides the kcs profile assigned to user

3, Is there any other way toview the document without giving capability word.

Thanks in advance,

VND

Hi vnared,

yes,  the KMAdmin capability word is needed for the approval process. It gives rights to the users for KM  however you still have to setup KM Profiles,KM groups, and KM categories to give them permissions to submit and approve.

1st: Review the KM Profiles in the system, the default profiles are pretty good and follow KCS. System Administration->Ongoing Maintenance->Profiles->Knowledge Management Profiles

2nd: Setup the KM groups and add operators to them. Knowledge Management->Knowledge Groups

3nd: Create KM categories and add the group along with profile to set permissions. Knowledge Management->Manage KM Document Categories

Hi Dimitar,

As you suggested,   i have already created km category, profile, and group

7:28 PM

assigned KM Group   to an perator

Now in KCS   profile i restricted publish external adaptive learning etc.., but still these options are visible to an operator in KM document if i give KM Capability word...

can someone please advise, how can i restrict Publish external, adaptive learning by giving KMAdmin profile...

Thanks,

VND

Hi again,

Thank you for attaching the screenshot. I checked it... I suspect it is something related to the settings of the KM profiles.

However I have to check it on my system first  to be sure. I will try to test it tomorrow and will contact you again. 🙂
