Execute an external script from Service Center or Connect-IT

Hi,

I need to launch an external script from Service Center.
Is there any way to do this?

We have the Connect-IT to send email or receive events.

Thank you.

You haven't defined whether the external script will sit locally on the machines utilizing the client, or if the script sits on the same server machine running Service Center. So the answer is a little tricky depending on that piece of information.

Out of Box the us.launch.external RAD application can be called, it accepts things like http addresses, but also regular commands. Essentially it acts as though you were typing whatever string you pass into the Windows Start > Run menu. If you test that windows functionality you'll find that you can call http addresses there, or you can launch application (batch executables, full apps, etc). So that is the method you would want to use to launch something on the client.

A server side version is floating around as well, you can probably get someone to give it to you or you can ping support and they may be able to provide it to you.

Hope this helps.
