Re: Failed to open datadict file

It seems some of the core tables has got corrupted...

Should be dbdict or code or format or link or all of them.

Try to take unload of these files from development/staging server and upload them in the server you are facing the issue...

Re: Failed to open datadict file

Hi,

Yes it seems that your "datadict" file itself has been deleted from system.
You can check it by login in to DB directly and check for table "datadictm1"
Load the table "datadict" from some working environment.

Hi,

Thanks for the immediate response.

I logged in to DB directly and verified the table "datadictm1" and its available in the DB. Could you please help me to check any kind of permission, accessability or any other scenarios.

Appreciate on your prompt update.

Re: Failed to open datadict file

Hi,

One more thing that, am able to coonect with other DBs with SM but one of the DB is having this problem. so, it  seems to be problem with datadictm1 table only in that DB.

Re: Failed to open datadict file

Please login into DB using DB Admin and check whether following tables are also present and have records,

dbdict, code, format and link

desc DBDICTM1

desc CODEM1

desc FORMATM1

desc LINKM1

select * from DBDICTM1

select * from CODEM1

select * from FORMATM1

select * from LINKM1

Also login as SM user defined in sm.ini file to access the database and check whether above tables are present and have records....

Re: Failed to open datadict file

Faced the same issue was not able to open DBDICTM1.

cause.

ITSM upgrade. We imported preprod database to production database. after running the db configure.bat tool in the SM server directory the application could not start.

Investigation.

dbdictm1 table was existing on both preprod and new database but the table in the imported production db had two extra records.

solution.

we truncated the dbdictM1 table in the prod database and re imported it from the preprod db.

we later restarted the services with-ought running the db configure.bat.
