HPSM 9.41 Chat Server installation issue

Hi Team,

We are trying to install Chat Server version 9.41 on Windows 2012 R2 wherein HP SM Server, Application, Web Tier has already been installed with Version.

While performing the installation of Chat Server: we are getting stuck in step "g" as per the interactive installation guide for HPSM 9.41

"Specify a JDBC driver and the connection properties to connect to your database on the Database Settings - Standard Connection page. You need to specify the database details so that Openfire can connect to your Service Manager database and create the DB tables."

We have an SQL DB and when trying to replace the "jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://[host-name]/[database-name];appName=jive, where [host-name] and [database-name] are the actual values of you server." hostname and database with the one in our environment, we are unable to connect to the database. Please specify what should be the syntax for the DB name say, "DBSQLCLUS1/SQLCLUSTER" and database name is "HPSM"

The error is: "A connection to the database could not be made. View the error message by opening the "logs\error.log" log file, then go back and fix the problem". The error log is unable to find the hostname of the database.

Also need to understand whether before this step, do we need to start the "Openfire" services, since we are unable to start the same and it is not even generating a log.

Kindly suggest

Can some one who succeded in implementing SM Collaboration look in to this issue please?
Struck up at Point G of the Interactive Installation guide.
 I am struck up at the same point, however the error is different.

I am sure of the Host name : Database name details which are being used are accurate & i am able to connect thru ODBC using the same hostname & database credentials.

Please try to use this configuration

jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://[db_hostname]:db_port/Database_name;instance=SQLEXPRESS

Try this value

 

jdbc:sqlserver://[serverName[\instanceName][:portNumber]][;property=value[;property=value]]

I would request to install the chat server again after deleting all tables from database regarding Chat server

(as mentioned in documents also which tables needs to be deleted)

and at last step don't give any password i.e. skip the step and the try to login with credentials

password:admin
