How to configure port 8080 for ssl

Jump to solution

Hi All,

How to configure port 8080 for ssl instead of using 8443 in tomcat? meaning currently http://localhost:8080 and I want it to be https://localhost:8080. Appreciate that if anyone can provide me guide. I changed the connector port to 8080 but failed to access with https.

<Connector port="8443"
      protocol="HTTP/1.1"
      maxHttpHeaderSize="8192"
      maxThreads="150"
      minSpareThreads="25"
      enableLookups="false"
      disableUploadTimeout="true"
      acceptCount="100"
      scheme="https"
      secure="true"
      SSLEnabled="true"
      clientAuth="false"
      sslEnabledProtocols="TLSv1.2,TLSv1.1,TLSv1,SSLv2Hello"
      keystoreType="JKS"
      keystoreFile="D:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 7.0_Tomcat7SM\webapps\lucytomcat"
      keystorePass="myqnhawm"

I'm not a Tomcat expert (and your question is more about Tomcat, rather than HPSM), but I thinkk the issue is that you can't just set 8080 to be the https port without also turning it off on the standard port... you're trying to tell Tomcat to use the same port for both HTTP and HTTPS, and I don't think that will work, as the port will already be in use.

You need to redirect port 8080 to 8443.

<Connector port="8080" protocol="HTTP/1.1"
connectionTimeout="20000"
redirectPort="8443" />
