How to create interaction via RESTfull API?

Jump to solution

On the Service document i found:

Action name Supported Methods URI Create POST http://*HOST*/SM/9/rest/interactions/{incident.id}/action/create

Is that what I need? If so then what should i put in "incident.id" for non linked interaction. And must inportant that what body can contain POST request. I need example of json structure or smt like that.

Hi,

I am assuming you're using a third party tool to send the request such as SOAP UI. So, let's create a new REST project with this URL

http://<host>:<port>/SM/9/rest/interactions

Enter the credentials to login to SM e.g. falcon or any other operator with enough privilages to use REST and create the interaction record.  Then:

  • Set the Method to POST
  • If necessary, set the Media Type to application/JSON

You may the json request as follows:

{
"Interaction":
{
"Assignee" : "Test",
"AssignmentGroup": "Test"

------ ALL mandatory fields should be listed here -----
}
}
