Validaiton pop-ups should only be used for validation, as they prevent the record from being saved.

See attachment for an example.

Well, I do want to prevent the record from being saved and the message for high priority tickets to say something along the line of "Please call TAC for Downsite tickets."

Ah, like that. Sorry I misunderstood your original question. Any ticket/update through ESS wil have a varialbe called $G.ess set to true. So you can add this to the exsting condition:

 and $G.ess

In the add and update part, as it's part of the condition to running the validation.

You want that never saved with priority=1 ?

Or another words users from ESS should not select priority=1 ?

Yes, for priority 1 tickets we want them to call in the information and report it to a tech directly. So if the user is reporting a downsite or enterprise it wouldn't let them save the ticket and instead would throw up a message saying "If this is a high priority ticket please contact TAC at *** "

Re: How to get a pop-up message to display for ess tickets with a "1" priority

There is 2 ways.

1) do not let user select priority=1 (hide such priority from user selection) and add some information text wich describe what to do in high priority issue.

2) User can select priority=1 (this is you try to do) but can't save such interaction and get message after try it.

for 2) in format control ess.SD.open in VALIDATIONS tab:

in Add field set - true

in Validation field set - prioirity.code in $file~=1

or you can also set next condition - prioirity.code in $file>1

\may be 1 must be in ""\

I tried both proirity.code in $file~=1  and proirity.code in $file>1 without success. Here's what I tried:

You misspelled "priority.code"

Wow, yes you're right! I corrected my mistake and it still seems to be throwing up the message on all priorities
