Is Service Manager compatible with Exchange 2016

Jump to solution
Hello:
one customer have Service Manager 9.4 and the version they use of connect-IT is 9.6.
Do we have information to check compatibility with Exchange?
Exchange Server 2010, will be decommissioned on August and they said Service Manager is not compatible with HPSM 2016.
Thanks you very much in advance,
Best regards

It's like what Breno said. SM uses SMTP. It depends on your setup. Some customers uses Connect-IT to handle emails in and out of SM and some do not. If you do, then your Connect-IT will be impacted by Exchange Server.

You can check the latest version of Connect-It here, https://softwaresupport.softwaregrp.com/obsolescence-migrations#tab2  which is 9.8x.

But what you need is the Connect-IT 9.8 compatibility matrix here, https://softwaresupport.softwaregrp.com/doc/KM03073650, Unfortunately, it also does not support Exchange 2016, which was why I checked the Ideas Exchange and pointed you there.

Not sure if it helps but Exchange 2010 reaches its end of support on January 14, 2020, and not August. I assume Connect-IT will support Exchange 2016 before then. You can chase it up via the Ideas Exchange link I posted previously.

What kind of integration do you have? If its only to send/retrieve mails using standard protocols like SMTP why it should not?

As far as I know, SM do not have compatibility matrix for MS Exchange. However, Connect_IT does and even the latest Connect_IT 9.80 version does not support MS Exchange 2016.

However, that supportability is in the roadmap. Please vote for https://community.microfocus.com/t5/SMA-Idea-Exchange/Support-Microsoft-Exchange-2016-for-Connect-IT/idi-p/1661428  so that you will get updated on the version of Connect-IT that does support MS Exchange 2016.
