Link record for service options in SM catalog 7.11

Jump to solution

When adding a service option to a catalog item you are able to link to a table but there seems to be no way to filter what records will be displayed. Is there a link record that can be modified? Has anyone come up with any other option?

Thank you in advance.

Hello, what do you mean under service options? The thing which allows you to choose for e.x Screen size for requested monitor? If yes, then it has nothing close to links and is controled by the User option in the catalog item definition in the Manage Catalog menu

I am referring to the User Selections that can be added to a catalog item for specific information such as "What is your location?". These selections can reference a table (location) but within the catalog you cannot use a query to limit the records displayed. You get all the records in the table. I was wondering if there was a link record for the catalog that could be edited.

Thank you for the response.

We are looking for the exact same thing. If filtering a table is not possible which is does not appear to be, another option would have been for HP to provide the facility of getting the list from a Global Variable.

Since we have not found a solution to this problem we are investigating using custom tables populated by a combination of global lists and/or ScriptLibraries and Scheduled Records.

If anyone else out there has a more elegant solution we would love to hear about it as ours seems like a total hack, especially since it requires significant development to cater for what should be a pretty simple feature/facility.
