New error seen in HP SM 7.11 after applying patch 20

Jump to solution

Over the past few days we have begun to see sm.log messages of the form:

3820(  3844) 03/09/2013 20:54:02 JRTE W Data expected length is 1364542802 bytes, actual data read is 19bytes and after 10 retry attempts no more data is available.

Notice that the length is gigabytes.

I don't know if the message itself is false, or if something in our environment is actually saying that it is providing gigabytes of data.

Is anyone else seeing these? Anyone know what they are trying to indicate?

Thank you

We backed out the patch 20 change to the server, and these messages no longer are occurring. Still no idea what they were about.

Haven't seen that error before. When you apply patch 20, did you clear the tomcat work cache before starting up the patched server ? I'm wondering whether its a corrupted cache showing mismatch results. Cache of previous version data but using new P20 structure.

We replaced the entire old folder with a new folder containing the new code.

Thanks for the idea, though.
