Problem with Apache2.4 - wrong message size and additional errors
I am having a problem with Apache 2.4:
[Wed Mar 07 08:04:42 2018] [10868:11636] [error] ajp_connection_tcp_get_message::jk_ajp_common.c (1412): (ajp13w) wrong message size 27714 8192 from 127.0.0.1:8009
[Wed Mar 07 08:04:42 2018] [10868:11636] [error] ajp_get_reply::jk_ajp_common.c (2289): (ajp13w) Tomcat is down or network problems. Part of the response has already been sent to the client
[Wed Mar 07 08:04:42 2018] [10868:11636] [error] ajp_service::jk_ajp_common.c (2771): (ajp13w) sending request to tomcat failed (unrecoverable), because of protocol error (attempt=1)
This error messages are constantly repeating and we have tried to optimize it by putting parameters into Apache24 worker.properties:
Also we have put this into Tomcat 8:
<Connector port="8009" tomcatAuthentication="false" protocol="AJP/1.3" redirectPort="8443" packetSize="65536" minSpareThreads="50" maxThreads="400" connectionTimeout="60000" acceptorThreadCount="2" />
This is SSO WebTier and it has a lot of customers accessing it around (100) at the time.
Not sure what's your version of tomcat, you may met
And I met similar issues in another customer's environment, the issue was solved by changing the protocol from bio to nio, and upgrade tomcat should solve the problem as well, as the default protocol was changed in Tomcat latest release.
Let me know if it helps,
@lingyanmeng, thank you for an input, we are using Tomcat 8 for this Web Tier but I have sent your recommendation to my colleague which is solving this problem if he gets some hint from your recommendation.
