SM 9.30 CM Process Design

I have recently installed Process Designer patch and try to get through it with a real life change process:

1. Process has 10 phases

2. On fifth (5) phase it has to open several simple tasks based on assets array ... One task for each array member.

3. After opening tasks the phase should be closed and automatically forwarded to next phase. During task creation assets are written to cm3t.affected.item. Tasks remain open and have to be closed selectively in next 3 phases, dependent on CI type and subtype value.

4. Before entering phase 9 all tasks have to be closed.

Additionally:

1. Some of tasks are linked to 3rd party system ... on opening they have to call web service of this system and parse several data. When the process in 3rd party system finishes, it calls SM and closes related task also parsing some data to it.

2. Optionaly : On 5. phase process also has to open second set of custom array based tasks, which will also be closed selectively.

How to set up this process?

Re: SM 9.30 CM Process Design

Which task (cm3t) field value determines when the task should be closed ... is it "parrent.phase"?

I have no experience with process designer yet but regarding your last post, what do you mean under which task field determines when taskl should be closed? You mean that you dont see the button to close the task?

Re: SM 9.30 CM Process Design

I have gone trough  Process Designer and discovered that there is a "changePlan" table containing information about tasks; when they have to be closed and how they are interdependent. This plan is populated during change process. But (as I also discovered) this plan population does not work as it should ... not to mention how it should work in my process.

Since the process I have to set up has  dependencies in between task closure phase and CI type/subtype I simply add  RuleSet to rewrite "changePlan" (JavaScript). Everything else works ... Somehow.

First release of Process Designer for Change was quite "immature" ...
