(SM) Support Tip : Configure catalog aggregation between SM and Propel

Sample steps to configure aggregation of SM catalog with Propel are given below :

 

1. On SM machine, add any Contact/operator for Propel integration : Add "propeluser" ContactName and FullName in a contact record (or ldap can be integrated with SM). Make sure ContactName is also the same as operator name. Add "propeluser" operator in SM connected to propel ContactName with password "propel#vmwin1". It is better to clone falcon. Add capability word "RESTful API" and “SOAP API” for this user in Startup tab. Make sure "propeluser" can be used to login to SM and propel both.

 

2. Load unloads in SM. The unloads can be found in Propel machine under the following folders :

3. On Propel machine, navigate to /opt/hp/propel/sx/WEB-INF/classes/config/sm

 

4. vi instances.json (specify SM server):

save the file.

 

5. Run the command : propel stop

6. Run the command : propel start

7. Login to : https://propelmachine.propel.com:9000/org/ORGNAME where ORGNAME is the organization name created in propel

8. Login with OrgAdmin, as an example here : propeluser/propel#vmwin1

 

9. Catalog Connect icon

10. Add Aggregation :
                Name : SMmachine
                Source System : Select SM system from dropdown (this comes because of instances.json file).
                Offering type : Service Offering (later you can create another aggregation for Support offering for support catalog items)
                Automatic : checked
                Query Filter : blank
                Save

 

11. Last Run should show updated.

 

12. Check Aggregation History tab, you should see the content here.

 

13. Go back to home page and click on the "Catalogs" icon.

 

14. "Create Catalog", give any name/description, example : SMCatalog.

 

15. Go to Access Control tab - Grant Access – SecPropel (The security group name created in LDAP, example taken here is SecPropel)

 

16. Go back to home page and click on "Catalog Items" icon.

 

17. Click on any item, example "Performance Desktop".

 

18. Go to Access Control and Grant access to SecPropel. You can play around with forms, pricing, gallery etc. You can publish any number of items.

 

19. Click on "Publish" icon. Select Catalog name as "SMCatalog". Note that once an item is published, the properties of the same cannot be changed.

 

20. Go back to home page and click on "Shop" icon. Click on "Performance Desktop" - "Order Now". Order the Item and you will see a Propel ticket id created.

Click on the ticket id to see the Order State. A new SD ticket should be created in SM. Try approving the SD ticket in SM and see the status changes in Propel order state. You can see existing Orders in Propel by clicking on the user's icon shown on top right - Orders.
