(SM) Support Tip: Renaming Host FQDN Support in SMSP 9.51

The host name is tightly bound to the Service Manager Service Portal (SMSP) installation and it’s not easy to change after the installation has been completed. However, sometimes the host FQDN has to be updated due to changes in network or the host itself.

With SMSP 9.51 a new script is provided under /opt/hp/ , now customers can change the host name at any time by simply running the script as below:

rename_fqdn.sh <old FQDN> <new FQDN>

Please note that this renaming script is not supported on High Availability (HA) environments in 9.51.

For more information please refer to Service Manager 9.51 Help Center
