The key in table=activity is the schedule.id and it cant be NULL. So why is HP trying to insert any records with the PK = NULL

Anyone, please!

Change the lenght for both thenumber VARCHAR(40) and the number VARCHAR(100) in table activity

Then you should be able to continue the upgrade

Hi,

Is this a custom system you are upgrading?

This does not look right - I have upgraded SM7.11 to 9.30 and the SQL ALTER statement above does not seem to be something I experienced.

For example:

ALTER TABLE ACTIVITYM1 ADD "LOGICAL_NAME

There is no "logical.name" field in the activity table...in fact none of the fields in this SQL statement exist in this table in my upgraded 9.30 or OOB 9.30.

Also what is the "schedule.id" field in activity table you mentioned? This does not exist OOB in activity table and is not a key...the keys are "number", "negdatestamp" and "thenumber". I think you are confusing this with the "schedule" table which is also having null key errors in your log.

I suspect something has gone wrong while you were following the upgrade steps... you might need to do a restore and start again.

Thankk you for your answer!

I wrote the wrong file name is should be file=schedule and PK=schedule.id

I have tried 3 times with a fresh restart and I have followed the manuel steps very closely.

Quick recap:

1. sm.cfg and sm.ini

2. load preupg.bin

3. smupgrade -> transfer.bin

4. smupgrade -> Servicepack and so on....

Any sugeestions, do you mind attaching the document that you followed?

Thank you in advanced!

Hi again, yes its a custom system I'am upgrading. Different upgrade path then?
We have installed/upgraded SM7.0 -> 7.01 -> 7.02 -> 7.10 -> 7.11

Hi,

I used the Interactive Upgrade Guide that comes with SM9.30 so I can't really send it to you without knowning which parts are relevant.

There is also a few patches out for the 9.30 Upgrade Utility (I think current patch 3 is the current one?).

Hi again,

I have now tried that guide, unfortantly I get the same error messages and then the upgrade utility crashes completly. I also use the latest SM9.30up3 binaires.

Have also registred a case to HP support, no solution yet from them.

Suggestions??  🙂

Unbelievable! HP couldn't get the upgrade right so they had to patch it.
I'm struggling through these same issues, and I've had two different but related support cases to HP. You think they might have mentioned that I needed to get a patch to the upgrade.

Hi there,

I have now solved it without HP support.

I had to change two fields length, cant remeber which two.

I can try asking my collegue.

Check the activity table.

Thanks, I shall look at activity. According to another forum entry, I need to load a Change_KM_Upgrade.unl; now it seems to not like that.
What is frustrating to me is that some of these tables we do not use, but this is holding up the entire upgrade project because of these errors that were not caught in the preupgrade process.

Thanks, I finally made it through the upgrade twice. My ActivityM1 table is as you said, THENUMBER VARCHAR2(40) and NUMBER VARCHAR2(100).
Turns out the problem was ComputerM1. I had to drop it, create it, and modify it, then add a dummy record before I was able to successfully finish the upgrade.
Thanks.
