SM9.35 upgrade to 9.40/9.41

Jump to solution

Hello,

I understand it is possible to upgrade RTE, client, web and applications from 9.34 to 9.40 and then apply a patch to go to 9.41.

Is the same possible with 9.35? Or not at all?

As I understand 9.35 was released after 9.40, it may not be possible at all? Is there no way to go from 9.35 to 9.41?

Thanks,

Yes, it is possible.

The steps are identical as those for any 9.3x release. When moving from one  major-minor (9.3x to 9.4x) release to another, there are not different instructions for each patch release (9.3x to 9.3y). Note that the 9.40 upgrade documentation includes a single guide for 9.2x to 9.40 and 9.3x -9.4x (well, one for PD and one for Classic--if you've deployed any PD content packs in 9.3x, you must go all-PD in 9.4x).

You could actually upgrade the Server RTE and clients to 9.4x immediately (they are compatible with 9.3x applications), but the 9.40 application upgrade is more complicated, especially if any content packs have been deployed.

Thanks John for the quick reply!

We will then be upgrading from 9.35 > 9.40 and then 9.40 > 9.41 (server, client and apps).
