SOAP UI 5.4 and HP SM Rest. Using GET method gives 401 error

Hi, experts,

I use SOAP UI 5.4 to test REST ws of HP SM.

Created test REST project, set URI = "http://10.1.32.44:13080/SM/9/rest/incidents"

in HP SM I've done:

1. restaccessviabrowser:1 in sm.ini and restarted HP SM

2. RESTful API capability in operator table for <integr> operator - it's sysadmin as well

3. Restful checkbox is enabled in extaccess for probsummary table

in SOAP UI in Auth I've added Basic authorization and set login and password - used <integr> login

So, after all that steps when I push "play" button in SOAP UI Request, it gives me:

Fri Jan 11 18:24:03 MSK 2019:DEBUG:Connection closed
Fri Jan 11 18:24:07 MSK 2019:DEBUG:Attempt 1 to execute request
Fri Jan 11 18:24:07 MSK 2019:DEBUG:Sending request: GET /SM/9/rest/incidents HTTP/1.1
Fri Jan 11 18:24:07 MSK 2019:DEBUG:Receiving response: HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized
Fri Jan 11 18:24:07 MSK 2019:DEBUG:Connection can be kept alive indefinitely
Fri Jan 11 18:24:07 MSK 2019:DEBUG:Target requested authentication
Fri Jan 11 18:24:07 MSK 2019:WARN:Authentication error: Unable to respond to any of these challenges: {}
Fri Jan 11 18:24:07 MSK 2019:INFO:Got response for [http://10.1.32.44:13080.Incidents:Request 1] in 5ms (0 bytes)
Fri Jan 11 18:24:38 MSK 2019:DEBUG:Connection closed

I have tried the same HP SM account in SOAP project in SOAP UI - it works correctly

what is incorrectly configured?

Re: SOAP UI 5.4 and HP SM Rest. Using GET method gives 401 error

Hello VVV,
Thanks for your question.

Most of the time this type of errors are from client side. So there is no much I could find in SM Knowledgebases. However, by googling the messages you obtain from SOAP, I found this very interesting article that might be helpful:

401 Unauthorized error

Hope this helps!
