Search Configuration for contacts table

I have a requirement where i need to segragate search of contact records based on Department. So if users from one company "A" search, they should only see contact record where company is "A" and when  users from company "B" search, they should only see contact record where company is "B". I donot want to use mandanten for this.

I tried to modify the search query using a process so I created a new Process and mentioned it in the "Initialization Process" of Search configuration record for "contacts", but this process is not invoked when user searches for contact records..

How can i modify the search query when user search from contacts search sreen?
