Service Catalog request approval not happening through Webservices

Hi Team,

We have created HP Connect-it scenario which will fetch email & approves the Service catalog request (interaction). But while doing so we are running into the issue that the Interaction is not getting approved.

Approval only happens when I make the integration user (used in SM web services connect-it) same as the approver in the interaction to whom the request is pending else approval is not happening.

Kindly suggest

Neo

Re: Service Catalog request approval not happening through Webservices

Greetings.

My suggestion is to open a case with the support team in order to receive a proper help for this situation you are presenting. Normally CIT cases require further research and testing.

Re: Service Catalog request approval not happening through Webservices

Hi Johnny_C_SM,

Its not the case for connect it , when tried with SOAP ui we are getting the same issue !!

So it has to be fixed in HPSM only.

Please share your thoughts if any !!!

Thanks

Re: Service Catalog request approval not happening through Webservices

I found this on the web about how someone did approvals via email. If this doesn't work for you, it does seem like an permissions issue with your connect. It user.  You might want to login to SM with the connect. It user to see if anything is in the approval inbox.  If not, try modifying the connect. It user permission, like make him a sysAdmin with override approval abilities and see what happens.

Re: Service Catalog request approval not happening through Webservices

Hi tompowe,

Thanks for your response. I tried with the attached document, but I'm recieving the following error:

"You may not approve for any of the pending approvals group",

Since it is a service catalog approval I canot add the user to the service catalog approval definition because user is dynamically configiured through user options while the requester chooses while submitting the request.

kindly suggest, it is badly needed!!!

Thanks

Re: Service Catalog request approval not happening through Webservices

Hi Neo,

hope you are doing fine today,

Yes sure, please let me share with you the case resolution:

"Resolution:
The customer wished to skip the Approval process when a request is logged using CIT. Since you cannot skip the approval procedure if you actually need an approval. The only way to do that is if the requestor is the same as the approver and then the request is auto-approved ( which the customer have already tested and confirmed as working as designed behavior), since it is pointless to ask approval for your own action. In any other case you have to go through the approval procedure.
The other options is to disable the approvals (and we already discussed that as not recommended option) or to create a custom script that detects the requests from CIT and skips the approvals for them.
In both cases this is considered a customization and as such is not in the scope of HP Support, but in the scope of our Professional Services (PSO) team."

have a marvelous day.
