Service Manager Responds very very slow

Jump to solution
Hi Experts

Service Manager is responding very very slow, i have checked the machine and there are no issues with RAM or Processor, db is on another server and that is fine too. Still the SM responds very very slow and during user login and logging a complain it takes 3,4 mints. What are the things that i should check in this case. Your help needed. Thanks

Yes you do have to restart. May as well do a reboot of server.

One issue might be database collation settings. What DB you are using? Check that collation settings are same as in Installation instructions and that DB server and instance are using same settings.

When did the problem started? Did you try to reboot the server?

Hi Mushi,

Do a show locks. do you have many locks at the record level?

You may want to add the following two lines to your sm.cfg

# async irqueue
sm -que:ir
sm -sync
the first line will perform the IR processing in the background (this speeds up the client perspective as they can get on to the next call.)

the sync line will remove DUD processes off your system

Depending on how long you have been running SM7 you may also want to look at IR REGENs for incident and probsummary

but hopefully the sm.cfg stuff will get you speeding again.

I doubt they will fix login speed. there have been some topics on that in this forum or the new communities forum..

Hi Coldbeer

Thanks for your reply, i have run the showlocks command and i can see many locks and the commandline is not showing the complete list of locks, and wht are the DUD processes?

Adding these 2 lines will also remove the locks or wht? as the locks are quite an old ones!

Mushi

If the showlocks has IR.probsummary or IR.incidents then follow my previous post. in fact put the two lines in sm.cfg now.

Dud processes are just rogue things left haing in system, the sm -sync removes them, it helped us a lot.

Both the commands should really have been in the OOB.
