Type should be mandatory when i update on update field

Hi all,

There is a requirement that in incident form under activities tab
type should become manatory when and only i enter some thing in Update field.

any help?pls..

You don't need to use $file with $variables

validation=not null($apm.activity)
Message=Please provide the update
Update=not null($pmc.actions)
Set focus to: $pmc.actions

Use the below concept:
change the field name of "type" and "update" by using ctrl+h on the incident form.

validation=not null(type in $file)
Message=Please provide the update
Update=not null(1 in update in $file)
Set focus to:type

the field names(input) are given when i give cntlr+h

type:$apm.activity
update:$pmc.actions

I am not sure if i change the field names it affects some where..

thank u all..it worked.

and one more i have raised a same type of query.the issue was in change form activities tab>historic activities tab> the filter should be enabled.But the button in the form it is showing as disabled and not functioning even the form design it is enabled.but the same in incident update form it s working well with OOB configuration..

any idea where should i do changes related to this??
