For that process search the log for either one of these messages:

JRTE W Process Low on Java Memory.

JRTE W Process Low on Native Memory

Re: server running low on memory, hpsm service restart resolve temporaly the problem

The message indicates the process is low on native memory so increasing the JVM heap will not help.   The version of the RTE that you are running has this defect:

https://softwaresupport.hp.com/group/softwaresupport/search-result/-/facetsearch/document/KM1317654

which would result in the message you see in the log.  As I mentioned earlier the version you are running has many known memory leaks.  I would recommend you open a case with HPE support ( they will need all of your sm.log files ) and they can help isolate the leak and/or spot any misconfiguration you may have in the sm.ini file.

For example settings threadsperprocess to a high value may cause this issue ( 50 ) is the recommended setting.

Hi,

Have you created dedicated servlet with debbuging enabled or you connected your scenario to loadbalancer ?

Best Regards,

Andrzej

Re: server running low on memory, hpsm service restart resolve temporaly the problem

Hi All

We are having a similar issue and one of our port going into low memory and a port restart is only the solution.

Log Message:

  4212(  6200) 05/17/2016 05:26:42 JRTE I AuthException: No credential information.

  4212(  6200) 05/17/2016 05:26:42 JRTE I Issuing a Basic Auth challenge...

4212(  6200) 05/17/2016 05:26:42 JRTE W Send error response: Server is running low on memory try again.

We have taken a snapshot of port while the low memory was observed, the native memory utilization increased to 90%. I have already increased the shared memory to 640 MB and implemented all the parameter as suggested above but it didnt help me.

Is there anyway we can increase native memory allocated to SM?

Memory Utilization of HP Service Manager is 99%.

The Memory utilization of HP SM is frequently hitting 99%. Restarting is temporarily decreasing the memory utilization but it is increasing the next day to 99% as usual. Pls help me in fixing this.

Attaching sm.log screenshot.
