Problem:

Application server log files are been created containing large amounts of whitespaces with intermittent calls to SilkCentral Test Managers 'DB Cleaner' functions. The applications serer logs look similar to the following:

Delete project ID 65
I;OV;2010-04-23;11:12:44;BCA;DB Cleaner;

Delete ChangeNotificationRegistrationEntity in ms: 0
I;OV;2010-04-23;11:12:44;BCA;DB Cleaner;

Resolution:

This issue is caused by a missing DELETE CASCADE constraint on a foreign key in the SCC_IssueTrackingProfiles table in SilkCentral Test Manager. Executing the following SQL command against the SilkCentral Test Manager database will ensure that the normal database maintenance calls of 'DB Cleaner' are able to remove the required data.

ALTER TABLE SCC_IssueTrackingProfiles DROP CONSTRAINT FK_IssueTProf_Projects

ALTER TABLE SCC_IssueTrackingProfiles
ADD CONSTRAINT FK_IssueTProf_Projects FOREIGN KEY (ProjectID_fk)
REFERENCES SCC_Projects (ProjectID_pk) ON DELETE CASCADE
