Resolution:

ANSWER
----------------------------------
Yes, SilkCentral Issue Manager 2006R2 (4.5) does support the use of SQL Server 2005 as a repository.

Although the Issue Manager Administration Guide does not mention that SQL Server 2005 is supported, the SilkCentral Administration Guide correctly lists the following as supported databses:

  • SQL Server 2000 and 2005 (including MSDE/Express)
  • Oracle 9i / Oracle 10g
