Resolution:

In SilkCentral Issue Manager (SCIM) it is only possible to create new custom fields which will appear in the "Custom" tab on the main Issue Page. It is not currently possible to add additional fields to the main "New Issue" page. Please see the following solution for further details on this:

Is it possible to add a field to the main "New Issue" page in Issue Manager?

The steps to create a custom field which displays a drop-down list are:

  1. Create the custom List which you wish to use for the drop-down. This can be done under ADMINISTRATION | CONFIGURATION | LIST OF VALUES tab, and select the "New List" button.

Give your new list a suitable name and add in the required values. Click "OK" when you"re done:

2. The next step is to create the field. Go to ISSUE MANAGER | CONFIGURATION | CUSTOM ISSUE TABS and:

a. Choose one of the cutom fields to create your new drop-down list and give it an appropriate name
b. Choose "Popup List" as the Control Type, and choose the list you just created in the "List Name" box.
c. Click OK.

After completing these 2 steps, the newly created field will appear on the "Custom" tab as shown below:
