How do I configure SilkCentral Test Manager to access licences from a remote machine?

Problem:

How do I configure SilkCentral Test Manager to access licences from a remote machine?

Resolution:

  1. On the machine which has the SilkCentral Test Manager installation, go to Start | All Programs | Borland | SilkCentral | Administration Tools | Change your licence server configuration


  • Select the options as below.


  • Select application as ‘SilkCentral
  • Select ‘Using local or remote server
  • Enter the full machine name or IP address of the licence server
  • Enter the port number for listening for licence requests if different from the default SilkMeter port number. Do not change this port number if you have NOT been given a different port number from your IT department.
  • Click ‘Test Connection’ button
  • A message stating ‘SUCCESS: Testing connection to license server succeeded’ should appear.
  • Click ‘Apply’ button and Close
