How do I configure SilkCentral Test Manager to login using user credentials from Windows Active Directory?

How do I configure SilkCentral Test Manager to login using user credentials from Windows Active Directory?

Problem:

How do I configure SilkCentral Test Manager to login using user credentials from Windows Active Directory?

Resolution:

The following paragraph is taken from the SilkCentral Administration Module Help document:

"When no LDAP server is defined, users will only be able to login withlocal credentials. If at least one LDAP server is active and a user account is set to use mixed mode authentication, each defined LDAP server is checked to determine if a user (with specific username and password) can be authenticated. If the user is unknown on all defined LDAP servers, then local database authentication is attempted. Accessis denied when a user is also unknown based on local credentials. If a user is known on an LDAP server, but the credentials are incorrect, access is denied."

You will have to enter the relevant data into the BaseDn and Password fields on the LDAP configuration page and ensure that each user has "Mixed mode authentication" enabled in their user profile to enable each user to login successfully.

Also the data from the BaseDN-field MUST be appended to the BindDN-field, otherwise the lookup will fail. So copy the data accross either field.
