QUESTION

Is there any way to do a Find/Replace of styles in Word documents?

ANSWER
----------------------------------

This can be done by using all of the functionalities already available within Microsoft Word:

  1. Ensure that the styles have been added correctly as suggested in the Office Import Help under the topic "Rules for applying styles"

  2. Open the Document in MS Word

  3. Select Edit / Replace - this will invoke the "Find and Replace" dialog interface.

  4. Type in the text that is to be replaced and the text that should replace it

  5. Keep focus on the "Replace with" field and select the "More>>" button - this will provide more fields to select from.

  6. Select the format button and choose the style option as shown below, then select which style you want to add to the replaced text.

  7. Once the style appears under the "Replace with" text, then Click "Replace All" which will add the Style to all such text.
