QUESTION

Is there anyway I can speed up the load times of SilkCentral Test Manager html pages?

ANSWER
----------------------------------
The SilkCentral frontend server offers the option for automatically sending gzip-compressed responses. Enabling this feature speeds up the load times of SilkCentral Test Manager html pages and will result in a slight load increase on your SilkCentral server.

To enable gzip-compression do the following:

  • Stop the frontend server from the SilkCentral Service Manager
  • Open the SccFrontendBootConf.xml configuration file, found in \conf\frontendserver
  • Search for the tag:
  • Set the value to true, which will enable gzip compression
  • Start the frontend server from the SilkCentral Service Manager
