Silk Central Execution Server As Service

Silk Central Execution Server As Service

The option to run execution servers as Windows service has been removed with Silk Central 15.0 as this does not support all features for the different test types

Silk Central launches an execution server as a Windows process, rather than as a Windows service. A Windows process is launched with the credentials of the currently logged in user, so an active user session is required in order for the execution server to function correctly. While a Windows service would have the advantage of still being available without an active user session, many test executions will not work without an active session, like for example Silk Test, Citrix, or SAP tests.
