QUESTION
----------------------------------

What causes the error "Unable to connect to the database, please make sure all input fields are valid" when trying to upload the requirements document within MS Word?

ANSWER
----------------------------------

This can occur when the ODBC connection has not be properly configured. Please check your ODBC connection as explained below;

  1. Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Data Sources (ODBC)

  2. Choose the Database that you are trying to connect to. Ensure that the correct driver has been chosen, a SQL Server DB should have a SQL Server driver. Then click the "Configure" button.

  3. Go through each screen and ensure that all of the configurations such as Name, Server, Login ID and Password are set correctly

  4. When arriving at the third screen, ensure that the "Change the default database to" option has been checked and that it is set to the SilkCentral Test Manager database.

This should resolve the problem. Below is a screenshot of what the settings on the third screen should be.
