Why does SilkCentral Test Manager report that my execution server is "Active" even though the machine is down?

Why does SilkCentral Test Manager report that my execution server is "Active" even though the machine is down?

Problem:

Why does SilkCentral Test Manager report that my execution server is "Active" even though the machine is down?

Resolution:

ANSWER
----------------------------------
The status of an execution server shown in ADMINISTRATION | LOCATIONS does not reflect that actual status of the execution server itself. It indicates whether or not the SilkCentral administrator has set the server as available when setting up executions. A status of "deactivated" indicates that the administrator has deliberately excluded the server from being used in any testing. A status of "active" indicates that the server can be used for testing. If the execution server machine is down, or the service is not running, this will be reported when you attempt to run an execution.
