Application Server Restart during long running executions

Jump to solution

We have often very long running tests, that means eg. 48 or 72 hours, on execution servers. During the test the application server is just waiting for the completion. Is it allowed or what are the problems to restart the SilkCentral Application Server while there are Executions running?

Restarting the Application Server while an execution is running does not impact the execution except for the following effect:

If after the Application Server restart the Execution Server restarts also (e.g. due to a reboot), Silk Central is not aware of that execution anymore, no run is created that would indicate that this execution has ever been started.

However, a restart of the Application Server will terminate executions that are currently deployed or being uploaded to an execution server. It is suggested to verify in the Tracking - Cross Project Activities area, if there are Current Executions with Status "Uploading Data" or "Deploying", before restarting the Application Server.
