Formating in parameter

Jump to solution

Hello,

is it possible to format a text stored in the parameter (data driven test case)?

Something like:

parFilterSetting= "Filter contains:

 • value 1
 • value 2
 • value 3

Default value is:

 • value 1"

Thank you in advance,

David Csikkel

Hi,

this is not directly supported, but if you are using an Excel data source, there might be a workaround.

You can use multi-line data in the Excel file (by pressing ALT+Enter):

In the step editor, switch to the Source Edit mode and add
...
tags around the multi-line parameter:

Then the line breaks would be rendered in the manual execution UI as follows:

Hi David,

If you are referring to manual data driven tests cases, the value will take the test step variable formatting. For instance:

List of values:

Format the variable:

During the execution, the value will take the test step variable formatting:

Please let me know if you have any queries.

I need something like this:

Action Descrition:

In the report '$ReportName' is table '$TableName' with following columns:
$TableColumns
And in the rows should be:
$TableRows

Result during execution:

In the report 'Sales results' is a table 'Sales by regions' with following columns:

 • Region
 • Customer
 • Plan
 • Result
 • Profit

And in the rows should be:

 • Months
 • Customers for every month

Dave

Hi Luiz,

Dave.
