Inherit Project Setting Changes for Version and Builds
[Migrated content. Thread originally posted on 12 January 2012]
Currently, if you are using Project Settings for Builds and Versions, and you add new settings for them, activate them, and deactivate the older ones, the Test Definitions listed in the Execution Plans do not pick up the changes. They remain at the old "Dactivated" Builds and/or Versions. They should automatically default to the active ones.

Hi,
for having build and versions dynamic you should use the BuildInfo file approach. There you have a xml file on your Application Server or Execution Servers and the information of this file is picked up at execution time.
Search the documentation for "Creating Build Information Files" for more information.
The reason for not replacing deactivated with activated information is lack in definiteness - some user might want that others do not like, as they want to keep their execution plans in a specific state.
Regards,
Florian
