Quelldateien werden abgerufen: Why are assigned two Executions to one Agent?

Hello forum,

when starting more executions (containing automated JUnit-Testplans) than agents are available, some agents get two executions: one which is really in execution and another which is queued. The second execution has a grey font and the status says "Quelldateien werden abgerufen" ("source files are retrieved").

This is quite annoying as the second execution will still remain in the queue, even if another agent is already free. The total time of the test could be reduced, if the executions are not be queued to a specific agent.

Why executions are queued? Can I prevent them from being queued?

Regards,

Hi,

When more than one execution is waiting in the execution queue, there is a known defect that sporadically more than one execution is deployed to the same execution server.

This is indicated in the application server log by the message "More than one execution deployed to this execution server:"

In consequence the second execution needs to wait on the execution server until the currently running one finishes. In the Activities page, the second execution is shown with the state "Fetching Sources".

As the execution servers can handle multiple executions via a queuing mechanism, no execution or result data is lost. But this defect may lead to execution server resources not being used in optimal manner. We could not yet identify and fix the source of the problem.
