Test with different browsers

Hi All,

Currently we are running our Silk Test classic scripts through Silk Central on single browser (IE).  We invoke the IE browser directly in the automation script.

we are planning to run our Silk Test classic scripts on multiple browsers; Ex, IE/Chrome through Silk Central.  In this case, how should we do it?  Should we pass in the browser type IE or Chrome from Silk Central into our script, and then invoke the browser.  Please share your idea and some coding example.

Thank you for any input!

Re: Test with different browsers

Hi @kkyy,

Yes, configure the browser type in Silk Central and start in ST script the according browser.

Create a parameter (or a configuration suite with a parameter) "BrowserInfo" in Silk Central. Add the browser type you are testing, e.g. "IE", Chrome", …

Silk Central will pass the parameter on start to ST. In the script evaluate the parameter and start the correct browser.

Passing parameters from SC to ST:
