need help modifying SQL report to retrieve test case , test steps and include test type...

Jump to solution

Hi, I would like to modify the below SQL to include the type of tests in the report.

I am having trouble deciphering what table to join to get test type information and report back accurately.

SELECT td.TestContainerName, td.ProjectID, td.TestID, td.TestName, ms.Name as 'TestStep Name',
ms.Description as 'TestStep Description', ms.Result as 'TestStep Result'
FROM TM_V_TestDefinitions td left outer join TM_V_ManualSteps ms on td.TestID = ms.TestAssetNodeID_fk
WHERE td.TestContainerID = ${TestContainerID |0|TestContainerID}

thanks all in advance!

Hi James,

Different views contain the test type, for example, the view LQM_V_BasicTestProperties.

Your query could look like this:

SELECT td.TestContainerName, td.ProjectID, td.TestID, td.TestName, tests.Type, ms.Name as 'TestStep Name',

ms.Description as 'TestStep Description', ms.Result as 'TestStep Result'

FROM TM_V_TestDefinitions td

INNER JOIN LQM_V_BasicTestProperties tests ON td.TestID = tests.TestID

left outer join TM_V_ManualSteps ms on td.TestID = ms.TestAssetNodeID_fk

WHERE td.TestContainerID = ${TestContainerID |0|TestContainerID}

Hubert
