After assigning a different monitoring template to each profile in the project, why is the previously used pew file picked up when running a test rather than the one assigned to the selected profile?

After assigning a different monitoring template to each profile in the project, why is the previously used pew file picked up when running a test rather than the one assigned to the selected profile?

For example, there are multiple profiles and multiple .pew files, so each profile is assigned its own custom pew. However, switching profiles results in the ‘switched to’ profile picking up the previous PEW template from the ‘switched from’ profile, rather than the one actually assigned to that particular profile.

This behaviour is as designed, as the .pew file template is set to use the first Active profile in the test. However we do have a request logged to have this considered for change in a future version.

At present to work around this issue there are 2 options:

  1. If individual measures / results are required per Profile, a single pew file can be created with all the measures needed for all the Profiles.  Custom graphs / tables can then be created from the final TSD files.
  2. If option 1 would create too much overhead with too many measures for example, the alternative is to access the relevant Profile before the test and select the correct template for the profile before running the test.
