Can I set up a shared drive to contain data files for my controller and agents?

Can I set up a shared drive to contain data files for my controller and agents?

Yes a shared drive can be used to store data files for use by the SilkPerformer controller machine and any agent machines.

  • Data files can be made available to agents either by adding them to the data files section of SilkPerformer or by hard coding the entire path in the script of a shared drive which the agent can access.
  • The hard coded path in the script cannot be c: or any other physical drive on the agent machine otherwise SilkPerformer will look locally for it. e.g. \\machinename\sharename
  • If using a shared drive to store data files it must be available to all agents and you will need to enable UNC access.
