Can the Data Source Scanner automatically detect valid data sources for monitoring of German and other localized or non-English servers?

Can the Data Source Scanner automatically detect valid data sources for monitoring of German and other localized or non-English servers?

This is dependent on the type of data being collected:

1. SNMP data and data from *nix systems
SNMP data and data from *nix systems are collected by system commands which are not language dependent. As a result, the Data Source Scanner should automatically detect valid sources for these measures on all language systems.

2. Data from Windows systems
The Data Source Scanner will automatically detect performance monitor counter sources for software such as IIS and Sql Server on English and German Windows systems. However, Performance monitor counters on other non-English Windows operating systems may be localised with the result that the data sources may not be automatically detected.

NOTE: The Data Source Scanner scans for a limited set of measures. In any case where the required data source is not detected automatically it can be added via

ADD DATA SOURCE | SELECT FROM PREDEFINED DATA SOURCES | CUSTOM DATA

The Data Source Scanner uses the file dss.xml which currently includes details for the English and localised German performance counters on Windows operating systems. The dss.xml file is in the Working\Include folder of the SilkPerformer root directory.
