Cannot launch the sample Silk Performer RMI application "Product Manager".

There are four steps involved in the launching of the "Product Manager" RMI server; these steps can be executed by launching the batch files contained in the directory:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Silk Performer x.x\SampleApps\RMILdap

If when attempting to start these batch files they fail to launch successfully, or you see errors similar to the following:

Then you need to ensure that you have completed the following two perquisites:

  • You have a JDK or JRE installed on the Silk Performer machine
  • You have configured the System Path so that it is pointing to the "bin" directory of your default JDK/JRE installation.

For example the Path setting should look similar to:

Path=C:\Windows\System32;C:\j2sdk1.4.2\bin

The Path setting can be set by using either the windows command prompt or by going to:

MY COMPUTER | PROPERTIES | ADVANCED | ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES | SYSTEM VARIABLES
