How do I monitor SUN GlassFish Server?

It is possible to monitor Sun Glass Fish Application Server through the Java Management Extensions (JMX) Management Beans accessed via Performance Explorer.

Please follow these steps to do so:
1. After installing the application server the installer creates a domain with stand-alone server and most of the application server configuration contained in the domain.xml file. Open this file in a text editor. This file is usually located in \domains\config

2. IN the file Make “accept-all” property to “true” for the “jmx-connector” node.

3.Then in Performance Explorer, do as follows:

3.1. Select Monitor | Add Data Source
3.2. Select From Predefined DataSource
3.3. Java->JVM Management -> Sun JVM 1.x(JMX MBean Server)
3.4. Enter the application server"s
- port for the JMX server (or as defined in the domain.xml)
- user name and password to application server

3.5. Click the Server Configuration button and Specify the application server install directory where the application server's libraries that are required for communication with the server are located.

3.6. Go back on the Connection Parameters screen, click Next to connect to the
JMX server and browse and Add the beans in Performance Explorer's JMX Data Source Browser.

3.7. Close the JMX data source browser and select the measures on the Sate Source wizard.
3.8. Click Finish to start monitoring.
