How do I resolve the error "System: 1219 - Multiple connections to a server or shared resource be the same user, using more than one username, are not allowed." when trying to monitor a remote server?

How do I resolve the error "System: 1219 - Multiple connections to a server or shared resource be the same user, using more than one username, are not allowed." when trying to monitor a remote server?

The error "System: 1219 - Multiple connections to a server or shared resource be the same user, using more than one username, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again." tells us that there is an existing connection to the remote server established using a different user name to that entered in the Performance Explorer connection parameters. You must therefore break the existing connection using the DOS command net use before attempting to monitor.

  • START | RUN | Type cmd to open a command shell.
  • Type net use \\machinename /delete
