Licensing error when trying to monitor using the Server Analysis Module, even though Silk Performer states a SAM license is available.
This is a known issue with SilkPerformer 6.x.
When opening the HELP | ABOUT window in Silk Performer, the list of licenses available always displays the Server Analysis Module (SAM) as being available even when there is no license installed.
To check if you have a SAM license, click
START | PROGRAMS | SILKMETER | USER POLICY ADMINISTRATOR
or open the policy file with a text editor and check if a policy called SilkPerformerMonitoring is available.
license ( segue, S11102 )
product = SilkPerformerMonitoring;
version = 6.6;
key = cf0674aed1dbecb17acf7e7e7428d264;
timeframe = (12/05/2004 to 01/01/2005);
allow_older_versions = true;
allow_standalone = true;
This display issue will be corrected with the release of SilkPerformer 7.0.
However, if you have confirmed that the license policy does exist please see the following resolution for further information to help you resolve this issue: Why do I see the error "No License: Monitoring is currently only available for the following measure-groups: SilkPerformer Controller, SilkPerformer Agents, NT4.0\System and Win2000\System" when I have opened Performance Explorer and have license.?
