SAPGUI replay with Silk Performer

SAPGUI replay with Silk Performer

How to replay a SAPGUI script with Silk Performer 10.0.

Once you have recorded your SAP script you are now ready to replay it.

You will notice that for security reasons, the recorded script does not contain a password in the SapGuiLogon function. Instead the function contains ********. We need to address this before replay.

The most secure option is to use Project Attributes. Go to Projects | Project Attributes.

Enter a name for your password Attribute. In this case we use "sPassword".

Change the type to password, enter the actual SAP password in the Value field and click OK.

Now declare a string variable to which we are going to assign the actual password.

Use the AttributeGetString function to get the password value from your previously set project attribute and assign it to your new variable.

Change the SapGuiLogon function so it now uses the variable rather than the hardcoded stars.

Now you are ready for a test run.

Click TryScript and then Run.

Silk Performer will start the SAP Gui automatically and log in with the username and password.

It will then run the test steps from the Silk Performer script.

Once the run is complete you can review the test in TrueLog Explorer.

Right click in the Silk Performer monitor window and choose Explore Truelog.

TrueLog Explorer will open and show the steps executed during the test.
