This paper explains the concepts that facilitate advanced context management, i.e state information management in Silk Performer V. It begins with an introduction to the importance of automatic context management for Web load testing. The techniques used by Web applications in order to transfer context information between browsers and Web/application servers are then explained. The paper further discusses the techniques used by Silk Performer V"s Web API to facilitate automatic context management and it explains how to optimally configure Silk Performer V"s Web recorder to generate scripts, which automatically maintain state information.
