What is the difference between the functions WebSetSpeed and WebSetModem?

What is the difference between the functions WebSetSpeed and WebSetModem?

Both functions allow modem simulation for virtual users during a load test.

WebSetModem is an enhanced function introduced in SilkPerformer 5.0, which will perform the same basic function as WebSetSpeed but without the need to specify the additional parameters such as upstream and downstream bit/sec and whether or not to use duplex mode.

With WebSetModem you need only specify one of the many predefined modem speeds and Silk Performer will automatically set the upstream, the downstream and the duplex mode for the chosen speed.
You can still specify what compression rate you require, if any.

Example :-
WebSetModem(MOD_MODEM_56, 2.0); //simulates 56K modem using 2.0 compression rate

Please refer to Silk Performer On-Line Help for more details on the modem speeds which can be simulated with this function.

Note - this function uses the ModemAPI.bdh
